John Jay LaValle has enjoyed a successful career as a private businessman as well as an accomplished and effective elected official and political leader. He began his political career serving as Governor George Pataki’s Long Island Regional Representative in 1995, then was elected as a Councilman on the Brookhaven Town Board. Thereafter, in 2000, at 33 years old, LaValle became the youngest Supervisor in the Town’s more than 350 year history, dating back to 1683.
LaValle served as the elected Chairman of the Suffolk County Republican Committee and the Regional Vice Chairman of the New York Republican State Committee. In 2016, Chairman LaValle was one of Candidate Donald Trump’s earliest and most vocal supporters and became a trusted advisor and Media Surrogate.
In 2024, LaValle was tapped as the Senior Advisor to Trump Super PAC Right for America. Following the President’s election, LaValle was appointed as the White House Liaison to the United States Department of Energy. He was charged with interviewing and hiring all political employees within the Department. LaValle also was tasked with assisting in the implementation of the President’s Energy Independence and Energy Dominance agenda. He worked with DOGE to root out billions of dollars of waste and fraud from the Energy Department’s budget. LaValle also earned a Top-Secret Security Clearance “Q” from the United States Government.
LaValle has been an attorney in private practice for more than 30 years. He has been a member of the Bar in the State of New York and Washington D.C. John is also admitted to practice in the Eastern, Southern, Western and Northern District of the New York’s Federal Courts. LaValle is also the Managing Member of the Patriot Consulting Group LLC — a firm that provides guidance on energy, waste management, land use and development matters, as well as brokerage services for investors.
LaValle is a graduate of the University of Maryland and he holds a law degree from Touro Law School in Central Islip, New York. John has three sons — John Jr. (20), Jake (19) and Jackson (15). He resides in the hamlet of Mount Sinai, New York.
